Taxonomy
Teilhardina demissa was named by Rose (1995). Its type specimen is USGS 25298, a mandible (left dentary with canine, P2-M3, and the base of I1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Elk Creek (428 m), which is in a Wasatchian terrestrial horizon in the Willwood Formation of Wyoming.
