Zanycteris paleocenus
Taxonomy
Zanycteris paleocenus was named by Matthew (1917). Its type specimen is AMNH 17180, a partial skull (incomplete, crushed skull containing right C, M1-3, left M1-3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mason Pocket, which is in a Tiffanian fissure fill shale in Colorado. It is the type species of Zanycteris.
