Taxonomy
Nerium hinoidea was named by MacGinitie (1941). Its type specimen is U.C. Mus. Pal. Paleobot. Ser. cotypes nos. 2327, 2328, 2329. Its type locality is UCMP loc. P3325, Chalk Bluffs, which is in an Eocene floodplain claystone in California.
