It was assigned to Aulophyllinae by Hill (1956); to Dibunophyllinae by Hill (1981); to Rugosa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Palaeosmiliinae by Somerville et al. (2016).

I. D. Somerville et al. 2016 | Solitary and pseudofasciculate aulate corals in which the aulos is poorly defined and formed by the union of deflected axial ends of major septa and partly by tabulae. Major septa are long carinate. The cardinal fossula is usually present and the dissepimentarium is regular. Tabulae in the aulos are mostly complete flat and horizontal sloping down towards the periphery. Increase seemingly lateral or peripheral. Septal microstructure trabecular. |
