Araiophyllum was named by Cuif (1975) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Carn J Plie-u Sepkoski's reference number: 682,919]. It is not extant. Its type is Araiophyllum triassicum.
It was assigned to Microsolenidae by Beauvais (1986); to Procyclolitidae by Turnsek (1997); to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Comoseridae by Vasseur and Lathuilière (2021).
