Brachiatusmilia was named by Alloiteau and Tissier (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than-l Sepkoski's reference number: 86]. It is not extant. Its type is Brachiatusmilia fuxeensis.

It was assigned to Parasmiliidae by Alloiteau and Tissier (1958); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
