Calostylopsis was named by Alloiteau (1958) [Sepkoski's age data: K Sepkoski's reference number: 658]. It is not extant. Its type is Calostylopsis sakalavensis.
It was assigned to Dendrophylliidae by Cairns (2001); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
