Taxonomy
Coscinaraea was named by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1848) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-u R]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Siderastreidae by Wells (1956), López-Pérez (2005); and to Coscinaraeidae by Benzoni et al. (2012).
