Taxonomy
Montlivaltia septafindens was named by Volz (1896). Its type locality is Forcella di Sett Sass, Italy, which is in a Carnian shallow subtidal marl in the Cassian Formation of Italy.

It was recombined as Furcophyllia septafindens by Stolarski et al. (2004).
