It was synonymized subjectively with Cycloseris by Wells (1956), Baron-Szabo (2002); it was misspelled as Funginellastrea by Sepkoski (2002), Baron-Szabo (2009).
It was assigned to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Fungiidae by Baron-Szabo (2009).
It was synonymized subjectively with Cycloseris by Wells (1956), Baron-Szabo (2002); it was misspelled as Funginellastrea by Sepkoski (2002), Baron-Szabo (2009).
