Rhaetiastraea was named by Roniewicz (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori Tr Rhae Sepkoski's reference number: 919]. It is not extant. Its type is Rhaetiastraea tatrica.
It was assigned to Pamiroseriidae by Stanley and jr and Whalen (1989); and to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002).
