It was assigned to Formicidae by Scudder (1877) and Pongrácz (1931); to Myrmicinae by Hong and Wang (1985); to Formicinae by Dlussky (1981), Solórzano Kraemer (2007) and Dlussky and Perfilieva (2014); and to Camponotini by Wheeler (1915), Bolton (2003), Bolton (2012) and Ward et al. (2016).
