Thecia (Angopora) was named by Jones (1936). It is not extant. Its type is Angopora hisingeri.

It was reranked as Angopora by Klaamann (1964) and Scrutton (1999).

It was assigned to Theciidae by Klaamann (1964); to Thecia by Jones (1936) and Hill (1981); and to Tabulata by Scrutton (1999).
