Cyclastrum was named by Rüst (1898) [Sepkoski's age data: K Haut R Sepkoski's reference number: ZR76]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Angulobracchiidae by De Wever et al. (2001); and to Spumellaria by Sepkoski (2002).
