Taxonomy
Chartronella was named by Cossman (1902) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Olen-l J Tith-u Sepkoski's reference number: 785]. It is not extant. Its type is Chartronia digoniata.

It was corrected as Chartroniella by Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Archaeogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Paraturbinidae by Haas (1953), Nützel (2005); and to Colloniini by Ferrari (2011), Ferrari (2014).
