Taxonomy
Muangthanhinius siami was named by Marivaux et al. (2006). Its type specimen is TF 6212, a mandible, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Bang Mark Lignite Mine, which is in an Eocene fluvial-lacustrine lignite in Thailand.
