Turiasauria was named by Royo-Torres et al. (2006). It was considered monophyletic by Royo-Torres et al. (2006).
It was assigned to Eusauropoda by Royo-Torres et al. (2006), Royo-Torres and Upchurch (2012), Royo-Torres et al. (2017), Mannion et al. (2017) and Mannion et al. (2019); and to Sauropoda by Milàn and Mateus (2024).

posterior centroparapophyseal laminae on dor- sal vertebrae, absence of prespinal and post- spinal laminae on dorsal vertebrae, absence of the scapular acromial crest, proximal end of humerus deflected medially (Fig. 1B), promi- nent humeral deltopectoral crest, and finally by a vertical ridge developed on the caudal side of the distal half of the ulna. |
