Myotis boyeri was named by Mein (1965). It is not extant. Its type specimen is MHNL FSL Li 16, a mandible (Mand. sin. p2-m3). Its type locality is Lissieu (Miocene micromammals), which is in a MN 13 terrestrial horizon in France.
