Taxonomy

Isophyllia was named by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1851) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-l-u R Sepkoski's reference number: 1102]. It is extant.

It was assigned to Mussidae by Veron (2000); to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Mussinae by Budd et al. (2012).

Synonyms

Isophyllastrea was named by Matthai (1928) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-u-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 1102]. It is extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Isophyllia by Veron (2000); it was misspelled as Isiphyllastrea by Sepkoski (2002), Sepkoski (2002).

It was assigned to Mussidae by Chevalier (1961); to Scleractinia by Sepkoski (2002); and to Scleractina by Sepkoski (2002).
