Elasmotheriini was named by Dollo (1885) [also attributed to Bonaparte 1845]. It is not extant.
It was assigned to Rhinocerotinae by Antoine and Welcomme (2000), Antoine et al. (2000), Deng (2003); to Elasmotheriinae by Antoine (2003), Antoine et al. (2010); and to Rhinocerotidae by Kampouridis et al. (2019).
