Taxonomy
Plesiogale gracilis was named by Filhol (1877) [original hypodigm includes two mandibles, neither of which was designated as the type specimen]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Stenogale gracilis by Schlosser (1888), Hunt (1998).
