Eosurcula was named by Casey (1904) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-l T Eo-m-u Sepkoski's reference number: 700].

It was assigned to Turridae by Jeffery and Tracey (1997) and Squires (2001); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
