Taxonomy
Glaphyroptera pterophylli was named by Heer (1853). It is an impression. Its type locality is Vaduz, which is in a Carnian terrestrial horizon in the Keuper Formation of Liechtenstein.
It was recombined as Buprestites pterophylli by Heer (1864); it was recombined as Pseudobuprestites pterophylli by Handlirsch (1906) and Handlirsch (1907).
