Taxonomy
Cyclocelis minor was named by Brongniart (1894). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R51314, a hindwing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN Brongniart coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France.
It was recombined as Cycloscelis minor by Brongniart (1893); it was recombined as Sphecoptera minor by Lameere (1917) and Carpenter (1951).
