Taxonomy
Dalmanites was named by Barrande (1852) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-l D Eife-l Sepkoski's reference number: 421,1066]. Its type is Trilobus caudatus.

It was assigned to Phacopida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Dalmanitidae by Jell and Adrain (2002).
