Taxonomy
Palaeopinnixa alontensis was named by De Angeli et al. (2010). Its type specimen is MCZ 3002-I.G.336832 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Albanello quarry, which is in a Lutetian marine horizon in Italy.
