Taxonomy
Dicamptodon antiquus was named by Naylor and Fox (1993). Its type specimen is UALVP 32387, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UALVP Location 1, which is in a Paleocene lacustrine shale in the Paskapoo Formation of Canada.
