Taxonomy
Trichopygomyia killickorum was named by Andrade Filho et al. (2004). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (Oswaldo Cruz coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
It was recombined as Pintomyia (Pifanomyia) killickorum by Andrade Filho et al. (2009).
