Taxonomy
Michenia yavapaiensis was named by Honey and Taylor (1978). Its type locality is Milk Creek Quarry, which is in a Clarendonian terrestrial horizon in the Milk Creek Formation of Arizona.
It was recombined as Protolabis yavapaiensis by Honey (2007).
