Taxonomy
Terebratula stantoni was named by Maury (1912) [DISTRIBUTION: ?Paleocene-Eocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is PRI (unknown number), a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Gryphus stantoni by Cooper (1979).
