Taxonomy
Amphilichas panoplos was named by Tripp (1980). Its type specimen is GLAHM A3401, a cephalon/head, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Roadside quarry & due south on the south bank of Penwhapple Burn, which is in a Sandbian offshore mudstone in the Balclatchie Formation of the United Kingdom.
