Lochman 1952 | In so far as the type, Onchocephalus thia (Walcott), can be compared accurately, because of its poor preservation, it appears to be very similar to O. huelnaensis, but differs from it in having the brim narrower, flat, and definitely horizontal in position. In O. leuka (Walcott) the wider, flat, slightly ascending border is quite different. O. huelnaensis seems quite close to O. virginicus (Resser), but the preservation of the single holotype cranidium of that species is so poor that specific characters are not really distinguishable. |
