Pterinea polyodonta was named by Strombeck (1849).

It was recombined as Gervillaria (Baryvellia) polyodonta by Waller and Stanley (2005).

  • Gervillia polyodonta was named by Credner (1851). It is not extant.

    It was synonymized subjectively with Pterinea polyodonta by Giebel (1856); it was recombined as Gervilleia polyodonta by Frech (1912).
