Type specimens:
- Daphoenodon superbus: CM 1589, a skeleton (practically complete skeleton). Its type locality is Beardog Hill, which is in a Harrisonian fluvial sandstone in the Marsland Formation of Nebraska.
- Daphoenodon periculosus: HC 222, a mandible.
Distribution:
• Harrisonian of United States (4: Nebraska, Wyoming collections)
Total: 4 collections each including a single occurrence
