Type specimen: AMNH 2668, a partial skull (An upper jaw containing P3-M3 of the left side, also P2 and M2-3 of the right side). Its type locality is Long Island Quarry, which is in a Hemphillian terrestrial horizon in the Ogallala Formation of Kansas.
