Sister taxa: Eotheroides aegyptiacum, Eotheroides babiae, Eotheroides clavigerum, Eotheroides sandersi, Eotheroides waghapadarensis
Type specimen: University of Antananarivo 9046, a partial skull. Its type locality is Ampazony, which is in an Eocene peritidal claystone/mudstone in Madagascar.
Ecology: aquatic herbivore
Distribution: found only at Ampazony
