Taxonomy
Mixastraea danubica was named by Roniewicz (1976). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Topalu 3, Dobrogea, Romania, which is in a Kimmeridgian open shallow subtidal limestone in Romania. It is the type species of Mixastraea.
