Taxonomy
Lithodendron sociale was named by Roemer (1836). It is not extant. It is the type species of Goniocora.

It was recombined as Eunomia socialis by d'Orbigny (1850); it was recombined as Goniocora socialis by Milne-Edwards (1857), Geyer (1955).
