Meganeura monyi

Taxonomy
Dictyoneura monyi was named by Brongniart (1884). Its type specimen is MNHN.F.R51142, a wing (fragments), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Commentry (MNHN Brongniart coll), which is in a Gzhelian lacustrine deltaic shale in the Commentry Shales Formation of France. It is the type species of Meganeura.

It was recombined as Meganeura monyi by Brongniart (1885), Brongniart (1894), Handlirsch (1906), Lameere (1917), Handlirsch (1919), Handlirsch (1922), Carpenter (1943), Brauckmann and Zessin (1989).
