Carpentertypus durhami
Taxonomy
Typus durhami was named by Carpenter (1960). Its type specimen is USNM 8758, a wing (Apical Fragments of fore & hindwing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Williams Coal Company Mine, Catoosa, which is in a Yeadonian terrestrial sandstone in the Walden Sandstone Formation of Georgia.
It was recombined as Boltonites durhami by Durden (1984); it was recombined as Carpentertypus durhami by Zessin (1983), Brauckmann and Zessin (1989), Prokop and Nel (2010).
