Taxonomy
Tricrepicephalus was named by Kobayashi (1935) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm mMid-u Cm Dres-l Sepkoski's reference number: 379]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Tricrepicephalidae.

It was assigned to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Tricrepicephalidae by Palmer (1954) and Jell and Adrain (2002).
