Tupus whitei
Taxonomy
Typus whitei was named by Carpenter (1928). Its type specimen is USNM 71713, a forewing (nearly complete forewing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Hermit Shale, Along Bright Angel Trail, which is in an Artinskian/Kungurian fluvial shale/sandstone in the Hermit Shale Formation of Arizona.
It was recombined as Tupus whitei by Brauckmann and Zessin (1989), Nel et al. (2009).
