Taxonomy
Arctotypus verneti was named by Laurentiaux-Vieira and Laurentiaux (1963). It is an impression. Its type locality is Dome du Barrot near Valberg, which is in a Roadian wet floodplain mudstone in the Cians Formation of France.
It was recombined as Curvitupus verneti by Nel et al. (2009).
