Archearadus was named by Heiss and Grimaldi (2001). Its type is Archearadus burmensis. It is the type genus of Archearadinae.
It was assigned to Aradinae by Heiss and Grimaldi (2001); and to Archearadinae by Heiss and Grimaldi (2002), Cumming and Mlynarek (2024).
