Taxonomy
Ochrotrichia was named by Mosely (1934). It is extant. It is the type genus of Ochrotrichiini.

It was assigned to Ochrotrichiini by Marshall (1979), Wells and Wichard (1989); and to Hydroptilidae by Wichard (1981), Wichard (2000).
