Taubatherium paulacoutoi

Taxonomy
Taubatherium paulacoutoi was named by Soria and Alvarenga (1989). Its type specimen is DGM 1087-M, a maxilla (right maxilla fragment with P2-4 and the alveoli of P1 and C), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fazenda Santa Fe, which is in a Deseadan lacustrine shale/claystone in Brazil.

Synonyms
  • Taubatherium major was named by Soria and Alvarenga (1989) [Hypodigm: DGM 1100-M (type), DGM 1101-1 (paratype: right m3), MNRJ 4123-V (left mandible fragment) and MNRJ 3897bis-V (right maxilla fragment).]. Its type specimen is DGM 1100-M, a tooth (Right M2 (?)), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fazenda Santa Fe, which is in a Deseadan lacustrine shale/claystone in Brazil.

    It was synonymized objectively with Taubatherium paulacoutoi by Ribeiro et al. (2000).
