Taxonomy

Euproteaciphyllum integrifolium was named by Jordan et al. (1998) [nom. nov., based on Proteaciphyllum integrifolium R.J.Carp. & G.J.Jord. (Australian Systematic Botany 10: 558 (1997)), nom. illeg.]. It is not extant.

Synonyms

Proteaciphyllum integrifolium was named by Carpenter and Jordan (1997) [Type Locality: Cethana, Tasmania.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is Holotype: C-808 (the only specimen observed) stored in Department of Plant Science, University of Tasmania., a leaf. Its type locality is Cethana Dam, which is in an Oligocene lagoonal siltstone/sandstone in Australia.

It was replaced with Euproteaciphyllum integrifolium by Jordan et al. (1998).
Proteaciphyllum microphyllum was named by Carpenter and Jordan (1997) [Type Locality: Cethana, Tasmania.]. It is not extant. Its type specimen is C-856 (the only specimen observed) stored in Department of Plant Science, University of Tasmania., a leaf (Cuticles). Its type locality is Lowana Road - Macquarie Harbour, which is in an Eocene estuary/bay mudstone in the Macquarie Harbor Formation of Australia.

It was replaced with Euproteaciphyllum integrifolium by Jordan et al. (1998).

R. J. Carpenter and G. J. Jordan 1997 (Proteaciphyllum integrifolium)	Leaf small, narrow elliptic or lanceolate, margin entire, apex mucronate, petiole long. Abaxial surface variably striated, striations reflected on inner cuticle surface.
R. J. Carpenter and G. J. Jordan 1997 (Proteaciphyllum microphyllum)	Leaf small, narrow, toothed. Cuticle quite thick, epidermis composed of small, rounded isodiametric cells. Abaxial surface smooth. Outer cuticular ledges prominent, but on the same plane as general cuticular surface, subsidiary cells very narrow. Adaxial surface prominently striated, trichome bases occasional, associated with from two to six basal cells.
