L. R. Saul 1989Aliodonax is donaciform, solid, with a posterior angulation. Beaks are small, opisthogyral, and posterior to valve midline. Valve margin is smooth within. Ligament is in a deep groove behind short sturdy nymphs. Dentition consists of one posterior cardinal in each valve, 3b in right valve, 4b in left , and one posterior lateral in right valve. Anterior cardinals are not separated from anterior laterals , and in both valves the two form elongate colaminal anterior teeth, Al ll -3a in right valve and All-2 in the left. R ight valve ha s long anterior "socket " into which thick and beveled anterior dorsal margin of left valve fits. Pallial sinus is short and rounded with dorsal arm sloping ventrally.
