Taxonomy
Anaptomorphus was named by Cope (1872). It is the type genus of Anaptomorphinae, Anaptomorphina, Anaptomorphinae.
It was assigned to Lemuridae by Schlosser (1877) and Cope (1882); to Mixodectidae by Hay (1902); to Anaptomorphidae by Osborn (1902); to Anaptomorphinae by Wortman (1904) and Simpson (1940); to Anaptomorphina by Szalay (1976); to Omomyidae by Cope (1872) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Anaptomorphini by Muldoon and Gunnell (2002) and Gunnell and Rose (2002).
