Boeotiaspis longispinus
Taxonomy
Paleolimulus longispinus was named by Schram (1979). Its type specimen is UM 5559 and is a mold. Its type locality is MV 7106, Supercrop Quarry, Bear Gulch, which is in an Arnsbergian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Heath Formation of Montana.
It was considered an invalid subgroup of Paleolimulus by Lamsdell (2016); it was recombined as Boeotiaspis longispinus by Lamsdell (2020).
